You’ve been there. The corner Chipotle or the local Doug’s Dinner Bucket.
You went out with a coworker as you brought the baggage of a nagging problem from work with you.
Unsurprisingly, the change of scenery, scents, flavors and conversation has wrought a new level of creativity and collaboration.
Without a whiteboard, without a sketchpad… in a moment of dilemma you’ve grabbed for the only thing you could find… a napkin. Countless feats of American ingenuity have been realized at the moment of conception on a lonely napkin.
Well, Hallsten Innovations does not frown on Napkins. We actually encourage our Clients to bring them to us. Seriously! We often work with clients that begin at the conceptual stage of product design (ie a napkin concept) and help them through a process of market research, intellectual property analysis, proof of concept development, and ultimately through our proven multi-step product development methodology. Our goal is to move fast toward a Minimum Viable Product and glean consumer feedback as early in the process as possible. Iterate, repeat…
Saving Sketches
Many historical sketches get lost to the waste bins of the world. Notably lost – Francis Scott Key’s first penning of The Star Spangled Banner. This blast of creativity and narrative occurred behind enemy lines, on a cocktail napkin.
Some sketches, however, have managed to skirt through the cracks of time and be present with us.
See below our showcase of some original sketches by some famous individuals, and/or some famous inventions… Enjoy!
